There are numerous allusions to other well-known works of heroic fantasy in My Hero Academia. The numerous Star Wars allusions may be the most well-known. Similar to how Luke Skywalker was trained by his teacher on the planet Dagobah, Midoriya receives instruction at Dagobah Municipal Beach Park. Musutafu, the city in which the show is set, is a reference to the planet Mustafar, where Darth Vader was born. In point of fact, the villain All for One clearly resembles Darth Vader in appearance. There are also numerous allusions to other films and television shows. Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender serves as the model for Shoto Todoroki. Both characters can control fire, both of them start out as enemies of the hero but later join forces with him, and both of them have scars around their left eye. At one point, Midoriya receives a powered armor that malfunctions and nearly disables him, just like Tony Stark's armor did in Iron Man 2. There are many more in addition to these.
